The name I present in this post is that of British actress of Indian origin Julie Christie, winner of the Oscar for Best Actress (1966) for her performance in the film “Darling” (1965), playing “Diana Scott”. She is also famous for her role, that same year, in another cinema classic: “Doctor Zhivago”, where she played “Lara Antipova”.

In addition to the Oscar, the actress won two BAFTA Film Awards: Best British Actress in 1966 for “Darling” and an honorary BAFTA in 1997; and a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama in 2008 for “Away From Her”.

Unfortunately, Julie Christie has not yet been awarded a star on the Los Angeles Walk of Fame.

Julie Christie, born Julie Frances Christie on April 14, 1940, in Chabua Town, India, is now 85 years old.

Julie Christie married Scottish journalist and author Duncan Campbell (1944-2025). Campbell worked primarily on criminal matters, serving as a senior reporter and war correspondent for The Guardian, and wrote several books on the subject. The couple were married from 1987 to 2010 and had no children.
