Christopher Plummer - ©Theda Bara

The name I present in this post is Christopher Plummer, an award-winning Canadian actor, who acted both on television and in cinema and theater, also being a voice actor for films and TV commercials.

Hollywood icon Christopher Plummer is best remembered for his character: “Captain Von Trapp”, in: “The Sound of Music” (1965), but the actor has stated several times that he did not enjoy participating in the film and that he only acted for financial reasons.

Christopher Plummer won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2012, for the film: “Beginners” (2011), when he lived the character: “Hal Fields”, father of “Oliver” (Ewan McGregor), a graphic designer irritated by everything, whose father, to make matters worse, reveals to his son that he is gay and that he also has terminal cancer.

Plummer is still today (2023), the oldest actor to win an Oscar statuette for Best Supporting Actor, at age 83.

Other important awards: two Tonys 1974 and 1997; two Emmys 1977 and 1994; a Golden Globe 2012; five Canadian Screen for Best from 2013 to 2017; Summary of the Work 2021 and 2023, the latter two, in memoriam.

Christopher Plummer, born Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer, December 13, 1929, Toronto, Canada, died February 5, 2021, Weston, Connecticut, United States, aged 92.

Plummer was married three times and has a daughter from his first marriage, actress Amanda Michael Plummer (1957-), with American singer and actress: Tammy Lee Grimes (1934-2016), from 1956 to 1960; his second wife was also an American actress: Patricia Lewis (1929-2003) from 1962 to 1967 and, finally, the British actress Elaine Regina Taylor Plummer (1943-), to whom he was married for 51 years, from 1970 to 2021, year of the actor's death.
