The name I bring to you in this post is the talented Mexican-American actor Anthony Quinn, known for his breakthroughs and long career in cinema, having appeared in more than 150 films and television programs. He won two Oscars for Best Supporting Actor, in 1953 and 1957, for his roles in “Viva Zapata!” (1952), where he played “Eufemio Zapata”, brother of “Emiliano Zapata”, played by Marlon Brando (1924-2004), and “Lust for Life”, a 1956 American biographical film about the life of Dutch painter “Vincent van Gogh” (1853-1890), played by Kirk Douglas (1916-2020), where he played the painter “Paul Gauguin”.
In addition to two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor, Anthony won a Golden Globe Award: Cecil B. DeMille in 1987.
Anthony Quinn has a star on the Los Angeles Walk of Fame, located at 6251 Hollywood Boulevard, in the Motion Picture category.
Anthony Quinn, born Antonio Rudolfo Oaxaca Quinn, on April 21, 1915, in Chihuahua, Mexico, died on June 3, 2001, in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, at the age of 86.
Anthony Quinn was married three times. His first marriage was to the famous American actress Katherine Lester DeMille (1911-1995), from 1937 to 1965; his second marriage was to the Italian actress Jolanda Addolori (1933-2016), from 1966 to 1997; His last marriage was to a neighbor, Kathy Benvin (1945-), from 1997 until 2001, when he was widowed by the actor.
Anthony Quinn had 12 children: his first son, Christopher Quinn, who died on March 15, 1941, at age 2, in a tragic accident that shocked Hollywood (1939-1941); American actress Cristina Quinn (1941-); Italian opera singer Catalina Quinn (1942-); American actor Duncan Quinn (1945-); Irish businessman John Ignatius Quinn, better known as Seán Quinn (1947-); American actress Valentina Quinn (1952-); American actor Francesco Daniele Quinn (1963-2011); Italian-born American actor Danny Quinn (1964-); contemporary Italian sculptor Lorenzo Quinn (1966-); American Olympic athlete Antonia Quinn (1993-); American singer Ryan Quinn (1996-) and his youngest son, actor Alex A. Quinn (1976-).

ReplyDeleteDe este actor recuerdo haber visto unas cuantas películas, además de las premiadas una que me viene a la mente es la de "Zorba el Griego" en especial la escena bailando el sirtaki, baile tradicional griego.
