Barbara Eden was Miss before becoming famous as an actress. In 1951, she won the Miss San Francisco pageant, launching her career in entertainment. Before that, she had studied music and dreamed of becoming a singer. After winning the Miss San Francisco title, she began appearing in films and television series, culminating in her iconic role as “Jeannie”.
The awards never arrived for this actress who was part of the lives of many adults, children, and teenagers in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Barbara Eden has her star on the Los Angeles Walk of Fame, located at 6910 Hollywood Boulevard, in the Television category.
Barbara Eden, born Barbara Jean Moorhead, on August 23, 1931, in Tucson, Arizona, United States, is now 93 years old.
Barbara Eden was married three times: first to American actor Michael George Ansara (1922-2013), from 1958 to 1974, with whom she had a son, also actor Matthew Ansara (1965-2001). Matthew died of a heroin overdose in 2001, at the age of 36; after their divorce, she married businessman Charles Donald Fegert (1930-2002), from 1977 to 1982, and divorced again; and finally, she married engineer Jon Eicholtz (1939-), and they have been together since 1991.
