The actress I highlight today is Vanessa Mariah Redgrave, a British woman who, in addition to acting in Hollywood, became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
In cinema, Redgrave debuted with the medical drama: “Behind the Mask” (1958); and gained prominence with the comedy: “A Suitable Case for Treatment” (1966), which earned her the first of her six Oscar nominations, which she would win as Best Supporting Actress in 1978, for the film: “Julia” (1977). The interesting thing here is that even living the character “Julia” in the plot, the protagonist of the film was Jane Fonda, who lived the role of “Lillian Hellman”. Another peculiarity of the actress's relationship with the Oscar happened in 1993, when everyone was sure that the second statuette for Best Supporting Actress would go to Vanessa Redgrave, who killed it in: “Howards End”, but who won was Marisa Tomei, character: “Mona Lisa Vito”, by: “My Cousin Vinny” (1992).
Vanessa Redgrave is one of 23 people to have won the Triple Crown of Acting: Oscar 1978; Emmy 2002 and Golden Globe 2003, the year she was also inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame. In 2010, Redgrave received a BAFTA Fellowship Award in recognition of her contribution to film.
In 2016, when she turned 79, Vanessa Redgrave starred in the campaign for the Italian luxury fashion house Gucci, when the English actress posed for photos of the collection.
Vanessa Redgrave, who is the daughter of British actress Lynn Rachel Redgrave (1943-2010), was born on January 30, 1937, in Greenwich, United Kingdom, and is 86 years old.
Vanessa was married twice, first to English film producer Cecil Antonio Richardson, better known as: Tony Richardson (1928-1991), from 1962 to 1967, with whom she had two daughters, actresses: Natasha Jane Richardson (1963-2009) and Joely Kim Richardson (1965-); and she is currently married to Italian actor Francesco Clemente Giuseppe Sparanero, better known as: Franco Nero (1941-), in a union started in 2006 and with him she had a son, film director: Carlo Gabriel Sparanero (1969-).
