Rita Hayworth, one of the most glamorous actresses of Hollywood's golden age, was never nominated for an Oscar. Her only significant award came at age 60, in 1978, when she received an award from the National Film Society for her lifetime of dedication to film.
The actress has her star on the Los Angeles Walk of Fame, at 1645 Vine Street, Cinema category.
In 2014, among the countless existing biographies, a posthumous and very complete one was written about the actress: “Rita Hayworth: And Men Created a Goddess”

Era una bella actriz. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteFriend Theodosia,
ReplyDelete“Rita Hayworth”, in addition to being a very beautiful and sensual woman, was also an excellent actress.
This Oscar-winning thing has always been part of a paternalistic scheme in the American film industry.
Its namesake Theda Bara was an excellent actress and also never received a statuette, even though she was married to one of the most famous Hollywood filmmakers of her time, “Charles Brabin”.
Excellent post.
Kisses and have a good week!!!

Saludos.

I see that your blog is absolutely for me, because I am a huge cinema fan. Rita - the icon of cinema. It's a pity that she suffered from such a terrible disease as Alzheimer's.
