In this post I bring the talented and fun American actress Sandra Bullock. Sandra debuted in Hollywood in the 1990s with a secondary role in the cinema: “Demolition Man” (1993), character: “Lenina Huxley”, but alongside two stars, Sylvester Stallone (1946-) and Wesley Snipes (1962-), marked his name in the plot.
Bullock rose to fame with: “Speed” (1994) and “Speed 2: Cruise Control” (1997), character: “Annie Porter”; “While You Were Sleeping”, character: “Lucy Eleanor Moderatz” and “The Net” (1995), character: “Angela Bennett”; “A Time to Kill” (1996), character: “Ellen Roark” and “Hope Floats” (1998), character: “Birdee Pruitt”.
Sandra Bullock won the Oscar for Best Actress in 2010, for: “The Blind Side” (2009), in which she played: “Leigh Anne Tuohy”. That same year, she won the Golden Globe for the same film. The fact is that 13 years later (2023), the former player of the National Football League (NFL), professional American football sports league in the United States, Michael Oher (1986-), who inspired the film, filed a lawsuit against the family, stating that he was never adopted and was instructed to sign a guardianship term, so that sports commentator Sean Albro Tuohy (1959-) and interior designer Leigh Anne Tuohy (1960-), his adoptive parents, could do business in his name, including access to Hollywood production royalties. Oher says he didn’t make a penny from the film, while the Tuohys would have received a share of the profits. In the petition, Michael Oher asks that the guardianship be terminated and that the family be prohibited from using his name and likeness. He also wants access to the accounts of the values that the Tuohys made in her name, and that the couple pay him a compensatory amount.
The film “The Blind Side”, directed by American filmmaker John Lee Hancock Jr. (1956-), earned a lot of money for the beloved “Miss Congeniality”, Sandra Bullock and also her only Oscar, which by the rules of the Academy of Arts and Sciences Cinematographic, there is nothing that says that the actress needs to return the figurine, even with the film’s story no longer being recognized as true, as there are no rules for biographical or fictional awards.
Bullock competed at the time with: Carey Mulligan, in the film “Education”, character: “Jenny Carey”; Helen Mirren, in the film “The Last Station”, character: “Sofya Tolstaya”; Meryl Streep. in the film “Julie & Julia”, character “Julia Child” and Gabourey Sidibe, protagonist of “Precious: A Story of Hope”, character “Mo’Nique”, who many considered to have been snubbed at the awards, and who deserved to have taken the Oscar.
Despite not earning her an Oscar nomination, the icing on the cake of Sandra Bullock’s career was the franchise “Miss Congeniality 1 and 2” (2000 and 2005), character: “Gracie Hart”.
Sandra Bullock has her star on the Los Angeles Walk of Fame, on Hollywood Boulevard: at 6801, Cinema category.
The actress was born on July 26, 1964, in Arlington County, Virginia, United States. She is now 59 years old.
Sandra Bullock was married to Jesse Gregory James (1969-), American automobile entrepreneur, from 2005 to 2010. The actress had an eight-year relationship with American photographer Bryan Randall (1966-2023) from 2015 to 2023, who died aged 57 after a long and secret battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Es una genial actriz te mando un beso.
ReplyDelete“Sandra Bullock” has acted in a hundred films, she is a good actress, beautiful, funny and charismatic. Winning an Oscar is part of the artist's life, the result of hard work and many contacts behind the scenes in Hollywood.
ReplyDeleteAbout the film "The Blind Side", which gave the Oscar for Best Actress to "Bullock", I just don't understand why the former player of the "NFL, Michael Oher", who inspired the story, took more than a decade to tell that Was the story a hoax?
Another beautiful biographical narrative, friend Theodosia.
Kisses!!!
My favorite movie "the blind side".
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week !

Creo que aunque lo que se narre en la película no sea cierto como parece ser demostrado no debe devolver la estatuilla. Si se la harían devolver creo que muchos mas lo debían hacer y no solo en los premios de Estados Unidos de América también en el resto del mundo.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
She is a good actress.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week, my dear friend Theda.

Thanks for the post on Bullock. She was one of my favorites with Keanu Reeves movies. I know she's been through a lot and I really like that she can take some challenging roles, but maybe not as many challenges as her life has been. Thanks so much for your post! & your comments too!
